Climate-and-Nature Nexus through NbS and EbA

Connecting knowledge, finance, and practice for climate and nature.

Work with NbS Praxis

For companies engaging the IFIs in Asia

Advisory

Most companies meet the IFIs at the tender. The project was shaped years before.

Advisory services and specialist workshops help companies position in Asia and engage the international financing institutions early, through strategy sessions and roundtables with management. On a specific project or program, the work runs from structural review of concept notes and funding proposals to theory-of-change design and positioning for accreditation candidates.

For consultants and institutions preparing proposals

Toolkits

Productized toolkits turn preparation experience into working resources for consultants and institutions working with the international financing institutions and the climate funds. The first, on Green Climate Fund concept notes, is planned for release in the fourth quarter of 2026.

For universities, companies, and United Nations forums

Speaking

Speaking, teaching, and facilitation carry the climate-and-nature nexus to universities, corporate audiences, and United Nations forums, with talks that range from nature-based coastal protection to how multilateral donors are adjusting their climate and biodiversity portfolios.

Why NbS Praxis exists

The climate-and-nature integration is no longer a future framing. Climate finance and nature finance are increasingly the same flow of capital, and climate adaptation and ecosystem stewardship are increasingly the same implementation work. The institutional architecture that treats them as separate domains is becoming a hindrance rather than a help. Practitioners who recognize the integration ahead of their peers will matter most over the next decade.

The Practitioner

NbS Praxis was launched in May 2026 by Hubert Jenny. He spent over 40 years in operations on both sides of the table: about 18 years in the public and private sectors, running water and environmental businesses in Thailand and Kazakhstan with full profit-and-loss accountability for eight of them, and 20 years inside the international financing institutions, originating, preparing, appraising, negotiating, and implementing over USD 3 billion in projects. Since 2022, he has provided advisory services and speaking engagements as an independent consultant. Global companies now contract him to understand Asia and how to work with the institutions.

His career began in 1984 in sanitation services in France. From 1985, he led a research program on wastewater treatment in tropical climates in Malaysia. From 1987, he worked in the private sector across Indonesia, Malaysia, West Africa, the Caribbean, Australia, Thailand, and Kazakhstan, mostly on public-private partnerships for urban services delivery. He joined international financing institutions from the delivery side, having already learned what infrastructure costs to build and what happens when a financing structure meets a revenue base it cannot support.

Inside the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and the Green Climate Fund Secretariat, he worked in operations rather than policy, evolving from water and sanitation engineering and public-private partnerships, through urban development and environment, into green, climate, and nature finance. At the Green Climate Fund, he led the review of concept notes and funding proposals for submission to the Investment Committee and the Board.

He currently advises the ADB-led Nature Solutions Finance Hub through GIZ and UNICEF’s Climate Partnerships Team, alongside assignments with advisory firms and private companies. He teaches climate and nature finance and green infrastructure as a guest lecturer at Princeton University, Sciences Po Paris, Thammasat University, Chulalongkorn University, and the Asian Institute of Technology.
